Sugar Rush – Candy Club Review!

Candy is my weakness. If its sweet, I am all over it. Subscription services are another vice, and so when the two were combined, it was kinda dangerous for me. After coupon after coupon poured into my email from Candy Club, I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to try it out. The coupon knocked the price down to about $13 including shipping, which isn’t the best price, but certainly isn’t awful. I took a short quiz to determine which candies I would enjoy, switched my options around a little, and put together a cheerful and sweet assortment for my box.

Shipping was fast with this company. I was expecting to wait a week or so before this made its way to me, but within a couple days, my candy had arrived!

I am a massive sucker when it comes to packaging of items. Packaging is so important to me as a consumer; good packaging helps to really seal the deal that the product inside is worth it. Call me weird, but I loved the cute box that the candy arrived in, with little candies on top surrounding the tubs that I received. The tubs themselves are adorable as well, with bright colors and candy printed on them. I was super surprised to see that the tubs are meant to be used for other purposes after the candy is all eaten, and they are actually pretty sturdy! I always need more cups for my makeup brushes and other products, so these will be adorable for storing smaller items on my desk.

Cute reusable tubs, hooray!

Now for the actual product, the candy! I was expecting the candy to be just your standard stuff, but I have to say, this stuff was amazing. I was worried about how fresh all the items were going to be, and everything is fresh and delicious. It went over my head that I managed to select all sour candies, so while my assortment wasn’t the most diverse in flavors, the treats were amazing.

Each standard shipment has three candies in tubs, with little candies sprinkled over the top. After looking at other reviews, it seems that you should receive nutrition information for each candy on a little insert in the package, but my box was missing these sadly. However, this is candy. You aren’t really looking for nutrition here.

My first choice that I made was Dorval Sour Rainbow Belts. These were probably my favorite in the whole box, with a sugary coating and sour bite. These totally reminded me of a concession stand candy that I loved when I was younger, so when I saw these, I wanted them for nostalgia’s sake, but these are way better than the ones I got as a kid.

My second choice was Dorval Pink Lemonade Sour Belts! It might be a bit silly to say that I only ordered these because they were pink, but that was pretty much the thing that swayed me to picking out these candies. This was probably my least favorite choice in the box, not that they were bad, just was a bit too sweet for me.

Alright, these gummies were definitely my favorite part of the entire box, and the tub of these were gone so fast it was unreal. I chose the Nassau Sour Gummy Octopuses as my last choice, and I’m really happy that I did. While most of these little guys have 6 or 7 legs, they were amazing, chewy and the perfect mix of sweet and sour, without being too sour. I am honestly trying to track down a place where I can just order bags of these guys, because they were almost too good.

Overall, I would say that my try with Candy Club was fairly successful. My chief complaint is having to call their line to cancel, but the representative I spoke with was super sweet and kind. However, having the option to cancel online is something that I would really like, because I work most of the hours that the call center is open, and a lot of others do as well.

I might get another box in the future, but as of right now, I’m sticking to my standard candy that I can pick up at the grocery store. But, if you’re looking to treat yourself, this would be an awesome idea, or a great gift.
